| PK opposes resumption of Indo-Pak talks | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 4: Voicing its concern over resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan, Panun Kashmir (PK), a frontline organisation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits, today said that the dialogue process with neighbouring country seems to be an abject of reversal of the stand that India has been taking on Pakistan's support to terrorism perpetrated in the country. "The dialogue with Pakistan has only meant endorsement of the government of Pakistan that talks have to be delinked from acts of terrorism. We call upon the Government to take the nation into confidence about the purpose and object of its engagement with Pakistan," Ajay Chrungoo, president Panun Kashmir told reporters here. The KP leader said, "It is shocking that at a time when infiltration across the border is showing an upward curve and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir are not only replenishing their ranks but building reserves so that they can withstand security pressures for indefinite periods, weak policies are being adopted against them by the government." He further said, "Weakening of resolve of Government of India is glaringly reflected by the permission granted to the separatists to visit China who are preaching secession in the country on the basis of religion." He alleged that it seems nation is gradually being transformed into "vassal state" whose policies on national security and foreign affairs are being determined by "imperialist" forces. "Panun Kashmir appeals to the Prime Minister to remove the apprehensions of people of India about commitment of the Government to protect the integrity, sovereignty of the country and give message to the world that we are not a surrogate nation or a colony whose interests will be decided by the foreign powers", he said. He also expressed concern over India's partnership with the United States saying it has brought strategic destabilization for the country. "India is being used by the Anglo-American-Pakistan alliance on one hand and Pakistan-China axis on the other, to fulfill their strategic interests, while it has been made to compromise on various issues," he maintained. |
