| Census-2011 omits religions, languages | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 4: Census-2011 being taken after 10 years as is mandatory in the constitution does not include mentioning religions, castes or languages. Census is being conducted since April 1 and shall last till the end of June shall be organized by nearly 26 lakh human beings (employees) mostly teachers shall cost the government of India Rs 5,956 crores. This is intriguing that Union Home Ministry which controls the entire show has not been able to explain why religions and languages have been deleted from the performa called 'A' and 'B' in its 45 items. In its item or column 15 there is a mentioning of SC and ST without mentioning OBC, religions or even languages. Chairman Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Prof Bhim Singh has strongly urged intervention of the President of India to save the state exchequer from this disastrous situation. The Home Ministry has to explain the conduct of census and this waste of human energy and national wealth. He said he shall move the Supreme Court if need be. Panthers supremo said that this is irony that heaps of intellectuals, patriots, political thinkers who can afford to silence the authoritarian voice in the Parliament appeared to have disappeared in the smokes of confusion. Why language, religion and migration is deleted from census being taken for 2011?, he pointed out.
