| Manohar visits Kandi areas | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT KATHUA, May 4: In continuation to his tour taken up to reach out and listen to the problems of the people of Kandi areas in Billawar Tehsil of Kathua District, Minister Of State for Co-operatives, Finance and Planning Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, today visited Banyari and Ramkot areas. People of these areas accorded rousing reception to the Minister and appreciate his vision for Kandi and hilly areas. The local public representatives projected the demand for formulating Kandi and Hilly Area Development Programme. They also put forth various demands of their respective areas, which include according Tehsil status to Ramkot, opening of Government Degree College and ITI in the area and provision for adequate water supply to the villages. The Minister assured that government has sufficient funds and schemes to cater to the needs of the people living in far flung areas. He also passed instructions to the PHE officers to ensure proper and adequate water supply to the villages through water tankers. The Minister also sanctioned Rs 4 lacs for the construction of co-operative building in Ramkot and assured the people that their demands will be considered on priority. Among others, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, SDM Billawar, Tehsildar and other District and Tehsil officers accompanied the Minister.
