| Govt contemplating to establish more parks in Jammu city: Sham | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 5: Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma, has said that government is embarking upon an ambitious plan to divert pilgrims of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi to city of temples, Jammu, by establishing more parks and beautifying the existing ones with added facilities besides introducing latest infrastructure in various tourist destinations of the division.. This was disclosed by the Minister during his visit to various parks of the city. Minister issued instructions to the Director Floriculture to formulate a comprehensive proposal for up-gradation of existing parks and identify location for new parks. He said that in view of the growing population of Jammu city there is great need to set up new parks especially in the outskirts of the city so that people can ease out their stress in the open space. During his visit to Zanana Park, the Minister directed the concerned officers not to allow any organization to hold any type of functions inside the park to maintain the aesthetic beauty and cleanliness in such places of mental and physical solace. He asked the officers to pay more attention on proper upkeep and creation of more recreational facilities in the park. Similar instructions were passed on for Green Belt Park, Sohan Singh Park Gandhi Nagar and other parks. Earlier, the Minister visited Nagrota and inspected the offices of Director Family Welfare and RCH. He asked for undertaking landscaping and plantation in the premises of office complex. He also interacted with the officers and staff and asked them to work with more zeal and dedication for effective implementation of all Central flagship programmes including National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) so that benefits of these programmes could percolate to the needy. Sharma also inspected the on-going construction work of Allopathic Dispensary at Nagrota. He was apprised that this two-storied building will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 91.57 lakh. Director Family Welfare, Dr Kulbushan Pandotra, Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Jasbir Singh, Director Floriculture, Jammu, KK Sharma, Chief Medical Officer, Jammu, Dr Shahid Moghal and other officers of Health and Floriculture Departments accompanied the Minister.
