JAMMU, May 5: Due to rains this afternoon, the opening of the five-day Jammu District Roller Skating Championship, organised by J&K Roller Skating Association, could not be started at Shiva Roller Skating Institute, Peer Kho, here today.
The organising committee had planned races for young boys and girls of mini and sub-junior groups, but due to water logging the events have been postponed for tomorrow.
"Due to wet rink, there were chances of accidents, especially when young skaters are competing in rink races, so we, in consultation with Association president, G S Khurmi decided to shift the events for tomorrow," organizing secretary of the championship, P P Singh said.
