| Govt functioning only on papers: Zulfikar | | |

RAJOURI, May 5: Ridiculing tall claims of the coalition regime to accelerate developmental activities in the State, senior leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and MLA Darhal Choudhary Zulfikar today said that such functioning of government was only on papers as developmental activities came to stand still on grounds.
Addressing serious of public meetings in Darshal assembly segment, Choudhary Zulfikar pointed out that most of the development works started in Rajouri district in general and Darshal constituency in particular have been halted without any reasons. "Instead of doing work on government, this regime seems to be more particular about giving press statements and conducting photo sessions to hoodwink the innocent people", he said and narrated that most of the work which was started two months back has been stopped midway, reasons best known to the government.PDP MLA pointed out that on the one hand government has been claiming that 25 percent of the funds from the Capital Component have been released while on the other hand developmental activities came to stand still. "I don't think there is any reason to stop developmental works midway", he said and demanded that developmental work started in Darhal assembly segment be completed before commencement of the rainy season.
Choudhary Zulfikar regretted that in the present working season the government has failed to accelerate developmental activities in Rajouri district. Even the project which was started early this year has been stopped midway.
Contesting government's claims, Choudhary said that except statements this regime has done nothing to ameliorate lot of the people.
