Panun Kashmir initiates legal action against KP leader
5/5/2010 11:21:02 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 5: Taking a serious note of some vested interests in Kashmiri Pandit community engaged in systematically maligning and defaming of the organization, Panun Kashmir has filed a defamation case against Shadi Lal Pandita, president Soan Kashmir Front for leveling "baseless" allegations against the organisation. "Of late there have been attempts by some disgruntled elements, obviously working at the behest of some secret agencies and political parties to float false, frivolous and fabricated allegations against Dr. Agnishekhar and Panun Kashmir," the press statement said. To discourage and arrest such politically motivated moves, Panun Kashmir has served a legal notice to Shadi Lal Pandita, who is also the secretary of migrant cell of Pradesh Congress Committee for recovery of damages to the tune of Rs 10 lakh for leveling "baseless" allegations and criminal defamation at a press conference held in Jammu recently.
The organisation has rejected these allegations as factually incorrect, "glaringly misplaced" and fabricated wherein Shadi Lal Pandita along with Vinod Bhat, Sanjoo Bhat and Rajesh Kumar has alleged that Dr. Agnishekhar is an "agent of Government of India" and that of some US agencies with the aim to dilute the cause of displaced KPs Shadi Lal Pandita has further alleged that Dr Agnishekhar received crores of rupees from US agencies. It has also decided to lodge FIR with Cyber Crime branch of Police against a similar group of vested interests who under fictitious names and e-mail Ids are engaged in defamatory campaign on internet against Panun Kashmir and its convenor. It viewed these attempts as a part of big game plan to create confusion and mistrust in KPs about it which has been spearheading the urges and aspirations of KP community for a separate homeland in Kashmir valley. "And this nefarious design initiated by the vested interest is not to be seen in isolation. This politically motivated move has surfaced at a time when Government of India, separatists and Pakistan appears to have secretly reached a compromise formula under quiet diplomacy which is reportedly a signature away," it said. It appeals the Kashmir Pandit community to remain vigilant against the sinister designs of the vested interests in the community.
