| "Fake" railway employee held | | | JAMMU, May 05: An alleged fake railway employee was apprehended here today while he
applied for a reduced-fare pass issued only to railway employees. A youth approached a ticket window at the railway station here and
asked the clerk to issue him a reduced-fare pass. He told the clerk that being a railway employee, he was entitled to
get such a pass, police sources said. He was identified as Satpal of Bishnah. The clerk, however, got suspicious of him and brought the matter to
the notice of some government railway police cops, who were in the
close vicinity of the ticket window. The cops immediately took him into custody and after initial
questioning, whisked him away to the police station. During questioning, he told cops that he was a genuine railway
employee and had recently been transferred to Jammu zone, the
sources added. When contacted, a senior railway functionary, however, said Satpal
was nor a railway employee. |
