As the J&K Civil Secretariat is close on the heels to shift its activities from the summer capital Srinagar to the winter capital Jammu, security agencies are fully geared up to make all necessary arrangements for its smooth transfer and facing an acid test to upheld their image. Secretariat is slated to be closed on Oct 27 at Srinagar and will re-open at Jammu on Nov 6.

Keeping in view the threat perception, security agencies are working in an underground manner to thwart the nefarious designs of terrorist organizations. All the places of rented accommodations, which can be used by the terrorists to design their acts, are subjected to routine check up.
It is to be mentioned that, Jammu city has spreaded over diameter area of 4-5 km, which houses several important offices and installations including Secretariat, CM’s residence, Governor house, Railway station, temples etc. With the onset of winters militants also shift their base of activities from valley to the plane and target the places in city. But, shifting of Secretariat also brought along with it huge number of VIP’s which further add to the responsibilities of security agencies.
The entire security apparatus is on its toes to sanitize the entire city for the peaceful and smooth transfer of Secretariat as a slightest of lapse could be resulted into a severest mishap. Now, keeping in view the current scenario additional security measures have been put in place and it would take much more time to enter the secretariat as, enough of security obstacles have been introduced. Under such circumstances, security agencies are facing an acid test to save their image.
