Jammu, May 6: An alleged criminal was Wednesday arrested by police along with sharp-edged weapons at Aghar Jitto near the holy Katra town. Acting on a tip-off, cops in mufti laid a trap at Aghar Jitto last evening and intercepted a scooter.
During the scooter's checking, two sharp-edged weapons were recovered, police sources said.
Soon thereafter, the youth, who was identified as Balbir Chand of Karua, Katra, was arrested.
The accused worked in a shop in Aghar Jitto area. During the search of the shop, police recovered 300 liquor pouches, 300 grams of charas and eggs.
The sale of liquor and eggs is banned in and around the holy town of Katra.
