| Micky stresses for Minority Commission in the J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
RAMBAN, May 6: Deputy Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council, Arvinder Singh Micky, has urged for constitution of Minority Commission and implementation of recommendations of Sarkaria Commission in Jammu Kashmir.
The Deputy Chairman was speaking at one day Minority Conference at New Delhi, the other day.
Micky highlighted the problems faced to J&K state in implementation of 15 point programme of Prime Minister for minorities. He also stressed for setting up Minority Commission in Jammu and Kashmir
Pointing out that the minorities have suffered greatly during eruption of militancy in the state, S Micky demanded for covering more minority students under scholarship scheme. He also stressed that Sarkaria Commission recommendations be implemented at an earliest.
Micky also had a detailed meeting with UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi during which he briefed her about the working of the Coalition Government in the state. |
