SRINAGAR, May 6: Police today recovered 1.3 kg charas from two women, besides destroying poppy cultivation at Bijbehara. Police sources said in their continuous fight against drugs, Bijbehara police recovered 1.3 kg charas from the possession of two ladies.
Police had registered a case in this regard. Sources said Bijbehara police along with revenue authorities destroyed poppy cultivation spread over 2.9 kanals of land and one kanal of bhung cultivation at Kanalwan, Bijbehara. Meanwhile, Pulwama Police and Revenue department destroyed Bhung cultivation spread over 10 kanals of land in villages Sunzen, Hader, Wasoora and Wahipora falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Pulwama.
During checking, Awantipora police recovered 70 kilograms of bhuki from a Maruti car bearing registration umber JK02C-7122 at Charsoo, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Awantipora. The driver of the vehicle Muzaffar Ahmad Wani son of Bashir Ahmad resident of Charsoo was arrested. Police has registered a case in this regard. |
