JAMMU, May 6: Chamber of Commerce and Industry has expressed deep gratitude to the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand for accepting its suggestion of utilizing the water of River Chenab for meeting the water requirements of Jammu. It is very heartening to know that he has asked the authorities concerned to draw the blue prints of this project urgently. In view of the low discharge of water from River Tawi and receding the underground level of water, Chamber of Commerce & Industry is firmly of the opinion that lifting of water from River Chenab is the only viable solution to meet the requirements of potable water for Jammu. Since this project is going to be the life line of Jammu and its surrounding areas Chamber hopes that dedication to purpose and the urgent need will be the hallmark of authorities concerned. |
