| LCC, Simula win ties; KCCC tastes 5-year ban | | 2nd Ashok Sodhi Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 7: Luxmi Cricket Club (LCC) and International Cricket Club (ICC) today won their respective matches to move into the next round of ongoing 2nd Ashok Sodhi Memorial Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament at Parade ground, here. In the meantime, taking serious note of the absenteeism, the organizing committee of the tournament imposed a five-year ban of the Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) for their failure to turn up the venue for the scheduled match that too after confirming their entry for participation. Luxmi wins by six wickets: Luxmi Cricket Club (LCC) today registered a fine six wickets win over International Cricket Club (ICC). Batting first, after LCC won the toss and opted to field, ICC made 110 runs losing nine wickets. Atul remained the highest scorer with 24-ball 34 runs while Abhishek and Rajeev contributed 17 runs each. From LCC, Madan and Puneet took three wickets each. Later, LCC chased the target making 113 runs in 16 overs for the loss of four wickets. Rajinder played superb innings of 25-ball 37 including six boundaries and a six while Manoj contributed 35 runs. Madan added seven-ball 14 runs hitting three fours. Naushad was most successful bowler from ICC with two wickets. Bikram and Rajiv shared apiece each. Madan was adjudged man of the match. Big 75-run win for Simula: The star-studded side of Simula Cricket Club today registered an impressive 75 runs win over Yankee Cricket Club (YCC). Earlier, Simula won the toss and decided to bat first they made 224 runs for the loss of nine wickets. Pardeep Bali was top scorer with 38-ball 73 runs including seven boundaries and six hits over the fence while Anshuman contributed nine-ball 26 runs. Inderjeet and Nasir added 29 and 24 runs respectively. From YCC, Arjun and Romil clinched four wickets each. Batting second, YCC could make only 149 runs losing all their wickets in 19.4 overs. Abhay was top scorer with 41 runs while Anuj contributed 29-ball 39 runs coming with the help of two sixes and six boundaries. For his superb batting, Pardeep Bali was declared man of the match. KCCC banned for 5 years: The organizing committee of the 2nd Ashok Sodhi Memorial Tournament today imposed a five-year ban on the affiliated club of the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) for club's failure to turn up for the scheduled match. In fact, most of the players of the KCCC, which is owned by JKCA working president, Ramesh Mahajan, are playing for Simula Cricket Club.
