| Hideouts busted, 8 Pak made AP mines recovered | | Two HM Militants, including Group commander, surrender in Udhampur | | JAMMU OCT-15- Hihz-ul-Mujahideen outfit today received a major set back with the surrender of its two dreaded ultras in Udhampur .Two militants including group commander surrendered along with arms before 58 RR of Uniform Force and Police in Gool area of Udhampur district, while Army busted two man made hideouts in Dharera area and recovered eight Pak made Anti-personal mines and RDX. The Army and SOG in its operation recovered some arms and ammunition from Kanthal area of Kandi Rajouri today. A Defence spokesman said that realizing the futility of fighting an aimless and unethical cause, two dreaded militants of HM outfit today surrendered before the Army and Police. They include Mohammed Sharif Koka @ Osama Call Sign 47, Group Commander Chachhawa and Tariq Ahmed @ Waqas. The militants surrendered in presence of Col Rajesh Kumar Commanding Officer 58 RR S K Sharma Officiating Commandant 65 Bn BSF, Arun Gupta DSP operations, Bushan Manhas SHO Gool and Rajpal Singh SI, (SSR). Two AK 47 rifles, five magazines, two hand grenades and 100 rounds of AK ammunition were recovered from the surrendered terrorists. The spokesman said that relentless pressure of counter terrorists operations launched by 58 RR and other Security Forces, concurrent psychological operations and desire to join the main stream, were instrumental for the surrender. He said this surrender has resulted in a major set back to the HM outfit operating in Udhampur district and will contribute immensely towards containing terrorism in Udhampur-Doda range. The spokesman further said that based on own source input column launched a search operation and located two man made hideouts in a forest area of Dharera. The hideouts made of ballies and covered with foliage with separate entrance were busted during the operation. Eight Pak made Anti-personal mines, five Chinese hand grenades, 2.5 KG RDX, two electronic detonators and one pouch was recovered from the hideouts. The operation was still in progress when the reports last came in, the spokesman added. In the meantime the Army and Special Operation Group launched a search operation in Kanthal area of Rajouri district and recovered 3 Kg RDX, four grenades, five explosive sticks, four detonators, 22 Pika rounds, 20 AK 47 rounds and 10 metre codex wire. The SOG Rajouri team led by Inspector Saravjeet Singh launched the search operation under the supervision of DYSP (DAR) Farid Ahmed, DYSP SOG T R Katoch and DRSP (SSR) Abdul Qayoom.
