| NSF demands bifurcation of PSC | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 7: National Secular Forum (NSF) today staged a protest on Jammu University campus to express dissatisfaction over the functioning of the Public Service Commission (PSC). Protesting NSF activists led by their president Vikas Sharma demanded bifurcation of State Public Service Commission, one each for Jammu and Kashmir regions. The protesters took out a rally on campus and torched the effigy of Chairman PSC condemning its alleged anti-Jammu attitude. Addressing the students, Vikas Sharma said that meritorious candidates belonging to Jammu region who had qualified Ph.D, M Phil, NET and SLET were left out of the final selection list for reasons unknown. He also said that the Chairman of J&K Public Service Commission has taken no decision about the pending representations of aggrieved KAS aspirants till date. Sharma alleged that the wrong paper setting pattern was adopted by the PSC authorities in some of the optional subjects, including Chemistry-B, Dogri-B, Zoology-B, Geography-B and Agriculture-B. He demanded that fair chance be given to all the candidates as been given to the candidates who took Agricultural Sciences. "The paper of Agriculture-B was conducted again following the report of out of syllabus questions and boycott of the same by the candidates but the genuine demand of the other aggrieved candidates is being ignored completely which is a grave injustice," Sharma said.
