| Various institutes celebrate Mother's day | | | Early Times report JAMMU, May 7: Humming Buds, preschool of Model Academy, celebrated Mother's Day at its BC Road branch today. Around sixty mothers of the preschoolers were invited on the occasion. Principal Model Academy, Residency Road branch and Director of the Humming Buds project, Rupa Gupta extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Dr Renu Gupta, Director MIER, Dr. Adit Gupta, Joint Director MIER, Vice-Principal, Usha Gadoo and the mothers of the preschool students who were special invitees on this occasion. In her address she saluted the spirit, unwavering focus, sense of duty, sacrifice and overwhelming love that mothers give to their children. The Chief Guest Renu Gupta in her message said that there is probably no relationship as pure as that of a mother and child. She admired the role of a mother in shaping a child's life and said that Mother's Day gives us an opportunity to thank our mothers for their unconditional love and support. She congratulated the faculty members for putting in valuable efforts for celebrating the occasion. Tiny toddlers of the preschool participated in various events with great enthusiasm organized on the occasion like modeling on different areas of development namely-psychomotor, intellectual, conceptual, language and social skills. Chief Guest appreciated the creativity of the teachers in preparing such colourful models. This was followed by display of different alphabets along with vocabulary words which demonstrated the language skills of the pre-schoolers. A dance presentation by the students on the theme 'I Love You Mummy' was appreciated a lot by the mothers. 'Antakshari' competition between the mothers was also organized in which they participated with great zeal. On the occasion the winners were awarded with prizes while the gift items prepared by the students were also presented to the chief guest and the mothers. In another function held at Sprawling Buds School, Laxmipuram in Chinore locality of the city today celebrated Mother's Day at the school premises here. A photo- frame making competition was organized on the occasion wherein 106 students took active part. Pooja Sharma, Principal of the school was the chief guest on the occasion while Director of the school, Rahul Sharma, Ramesh Khajuria, Arti Sharma, and Savita Khajuria were also present. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the school
dwelt at the length on the origin history and importance of the Mother's Day. Appreciating the tribute paid by the young children to their mothers through colourful cards, the Principal said, "Mother's Day should not become a symbolic gesture of worshipping of mother but a mother should be respected and taken care of throughout her life."
Later, staff and senior students of the school shared their feeling towards their mother and displayed the colourful frame prepared by them. Students used ice-cream sticks, cardboard, fabric colours and various other things to make colourful Photo-Frames. Harshita Chouhan, Ojasvi Sharma and Krishana Gupta got first, second and third prize respectively.
