| Kashyap Jagriti Manch lists various demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 7: J&K Kashyap Jagriti Manch (OBC), Jammu has listed various demands pertaining to socially and educationally backward classes of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing media persons here today, president of the Manch, Sain Dass Kashyap demanded Caste based Census of socially and educationally backward classes in the state, 27% reservation on the basis of caste as per recommendations of Mandal Commission or to enhance the present reservation of OSC from 2 percent to 27 percent, change the nomenclature of OSC to Backward Classes in the certificate issued under SRO-294 dated 21.10.2005, exclusion of Backward Areas and Area Adjoining Actual Line of Control from the definition of socially and educationally backward classes by amendment in the Jammu and Kashmir Reservation Act, 2004, one certificate for OSC (Backward Classes) for state and central government employment, enhancement in the income scale up to Rs 5 lakh for creamy layer and others. The president hailed the coalition government for creation of J&K State Backward Classes Advisory Board and appealed for appointment/nomination of its members from and amongst the people of backward caste having integrity and capacity to serve the people of OBC. He also hailed the appointment of Kuldeep Raj Verma as Vice Chairman of Backward Classes Advisory Board and appealed to government for providing infrastructure and other facilities to the Board to make it functional in the state at earliest.
