JAMMU, May 7: The body of a woman was today recovered from river Chenab at Pul-Doda in Doda. Police sources said the dead was identified as Vias Devi, wife of Baldev Singh of Kotal Kuntwara in Chenab. She had drowned in the river in December last year. Sources said the body was seen floating in the river waters by some locals, who then informed police.
Cops soon reached the spot and evacuated the body to the Doda district hospital. After post-mortem, it was handed over to her family members for last rites.
Police had registered a case in this connection.
