| CAPD employees arrested for swindling flour | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 7: Police have arrested some CAPD employees and fair price shop owners at Kheer Bhawani in Ganderbal, Kashmir, for swindling 90 quintals of flour meant for distribution in Lar and Safapora areas. The Kheer Bhawani police station received a complaint that CAPD employees some fair price shop owners had misappropriated 90 quintals of flour earmarked for distribution in Lar and Safapora areas of Ganderbal. On the basis of this complaint, a case was registered under sections 409, 467 and 167 of RPC against the accused. The truck (JK01Y/7711), shown to have carried flour from Srinagar to Safapora and Lar, was traced. Its driver gave a statement before the court under section 164 CrPC that he never carried CAPD flour to Lar and Safapora. The statement of consumers was also recorded under section 161 of CrPC. A total of nine accused were arrested in the case, police sources said.
