| Chib chairs FORCE meeting, assures Govt's full cooperation | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 7: A meeting of Forum of Recognized Colleges (FORCE) - an association of private colleges of Jammu Province, recognized by the state government and affiliated to University of Jammu was held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Medical and Technical Education, R S Chib who is also the president of the FORCE. Chairpersons of various B Ed Colleges of Jammu attended the meeting to discuss and deliberate upon various problems being faced by them. Director College Development Council, University of Jammu, Dr Rajiv Gupta also attended the meeting as a special invitee. Chib launched the newly developed website of the FORCE and complimented the management for developing this facility for the students. Speaking on the occasion, Minister said that this website will go a long way in providing online information about admissions to the aspiring candidates without wasting time. He said this would serve as a tool to strengthen co-ordination among the associate colleges of FORCE. He assured that the issues raised at the meeting will be taken up with the concerned authorities for immediate redressal. Minister thanked Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and Minister for Higher Education, A G Malik for endorsing the demand of relaxation in eligibility criteria of B Ed colleges and constitution of Cabinet Sub Committee for looking into the grievances of Private Colleges. Patron FORCE, Harbans Singh appreciated the efforts of FORCE Management for developing website and said that the student community would be benefited at large by this website. Dr Rajeev Gupta while speaking on the occasion also complimented the FORCE management for launching the website. Er M S Katoch, Vidhi Singh Jamwal, Rajesh Sharma, Sanjeev Gupta, Pankaj Dogra, Vikram Handa, Ashok Khajuria, Aman Kalra, Surjit Singh, Qusar and various other Chairpersons while speaking on the occasion expressed gratitude to state government in general and R S Chib and Minister for Higher Education A G Malik in particular for giving relaxation in eligibility criteria in B Ed, BBA and BCA courses, formation of Cabinet Sub Committee by the government to look into the grievances of these colleges and relaxation in the eligibility criteria of Principals. They also thanked the University of Jammu for the important role it played in resolving the issues and also thanked for the support it extended in filling up the seats of B Ed Colleges despite odd situation. They also raised issue of recognition of degrees of J&K in UP state and requested the President of the FORCE to take up the issue with the government concerned for its early redressal. Other issues which came into the light during the course of confabulations were strengthening of FORCE's strategy for forthcoming admissions.
