Semis position cleared in Sodhi Memorial T20 Tourney

JAMMU, May 8: Semi-finals line up has been drawn with the entry of Rohit Dogra Cricket Club, New Millenium Club in the last four stages of the ongoing 2ndAshok Sodhi Memorial Twenty-20 Cricket Tournament at Parade ground, here today.
Now, in the semi-finals, to be played tomorrow, New Millenium shall take on Rohit Dogra Cricket Club at 2.30 pm while Mohammadan Sporting shall meet Simula Cricket Club at 8.30 am.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, played today, Rohit Dogra Cricket Club (RDCC) defeated Luxmi Cricket Club (LCC) by five wickets. Batting first, after winning the toss, LCC set a target of 121 runs for the loss of seven wickets, which, in reply, RDCC chased in 14.3 overs losing only five wickets.
Manoj was top scorer with 48-ball 57 runs including three fours and five sixes while Madan contributed 19-ball 22 runs. From RDCC, Amit Baloria and Pankaj Dogra were main scorers with two wickets each. Anil and Anoop shared apiece each.
Later, RDCC reached the required target in mere 14.3 overs for the loss of five wickets. Sahil Bhalwal was main contributor with 26-ball 37 runs including two hits to the fence, followed by Amit Baloria (28 runs off 18 balls) and Rakesh (21 runs off 21 balls, 3x4). Sagar Gupta added six-ball 15 runs. From LCC, Sanjay was most successful bowler with three for 26 in three overs. Amit Baloria was declared man of the match for his all round performance.
In the second semi-final of the day, New Millenium Cricket Club registered a four wickets win over Mayank Goswami Cricket Club (MGCC). Batting first, MGCC could make only 100 runs losing all their wickets in 19 overs. In reply New Millinium chased the total in 16.3 overs losing six wickets.
Earlier, in their quarterfinal match, New Millenium registered 15 runs win over Gorkha Cricket Club. Batting first, New Mellenium made 124 runs losing all their wickets, which, in reply, Gorkha Club could not chase and lost all their wickets for 109 runs. Tushar played brilliant innings of 59-ball 70 runs for Gorkha but could not lead his side to victory in the absence of support from other batsmen. He was later declared man of the match.
