| Rashtriya Rifles organises amity meeting | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 8:A Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) organized an amity meeting at its Headquarters today. The meeting chaired by the Battalion Commander was attended by 45 civilians belonging to the areas of Daraba, Masthan Dhara, Sangliani, Chamrer and Saila Civil- military coordination. Pending cases of land compensation and issues pertaining to improving security environment in the area were discussed during the meeting. On the occasion, the Commanding Officer distributed cheques of compensation received from Defence Estate Officer Northern Command towards utilization of civilian dhoks and land to the concerned individuals. Release of compensation money has become possible due to all out efforts made by the Army at various levels of official functioning. Regular monitoring of progress of the cases, personal interactions, meeting and liaisons with the concerned officials by the Army units has resulted in release of compensation amounts to the concerned civilians. Civilians thanked the army for the compensation and also for organizing this meeting. Response shown by civilians during the meeting was encouraging and heartening. The meeting ended on a positive note with both sides promising to work together for better and safer security environment in the area.
