| GHSS Khellani organises debate competition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT DODA, May 8: Stressing the need to make the students and youth of the country aware about the issues of global warming and climate change, a one day debate competition on the topic "Global Warming" was organised by Government Higher Secondary School Khellani (Doda). The competition was sponsored by WWF, Government of India and state government. Principal Govt Hr. Sec. School (Girls) Doda Nek Ram was the Chief Guest while Attaullah, Nehru Distt Coordinator WWF was the Guest of Honour on the occasion whereas the programme was presided over by the Principal of the School Shafayat Ali. Students drawn from various classes participated in the debate competition and expressed their views on the burning issue of Global Warming. Speaking on the occasion, Nek Ram said that it was not only important for the students and youth to understand the challenges and issues in our planetary ecosystem but it was equally important for them to spread this message among the whole society.Addressing the students, Principal of the School Shafayat Ali in his speech said that WWF is doing a tremendous job in making the children aware about the issues and challenges in the field of energy conservation and global warming, which is extremely important.Later on prizes were distributed among all the participants. The formal vote of thanks was presented by Akhtar Hussain, Lecturer Urdu at the end of the programme who also carried out the work of Stage Secretary.
