| Film festival conclude at JU | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 8: A two day film festival which was organized by the department of Urdu, University of Jammu in the Gian Chand seminar hall concluded here today, the festival had tremendous response form students, scholars and members of the civil society. During film festival popular films like "Mugl-e-Azam", Naya Dur", Umaru Jan Ada". Mira Galib", ":Ek Chader meli se" were projected and were liked by the audience because it gives a message of love, peace and brother-hood. These films also projected the old age Indian traditions and civilization. Speaking at valedictory function HOD Urdu, Prof. Shohab Inayat Malik said that this type of events was held for the first time in the history of Jammu University. He thanked all those who witnessed these films and hope that due to the films new generation would work more and more for peace and mutual understanding. He further said that student must had got the information about the culture and civilization of India as the stories of these all films are being taught in the various courses at M.A. level. It would definitely help the student's community to understand the subject being taught to them.Prof M.A. Wani in his address said that because its academic and literary activities the department of Urdu, University of Jammu had become a prestigious department of literature. Dr. Mohd. Reyaz described film festival not only a meaningful but also a successful event as the films displayed on the occasion present the composite culture of India, Prominent those who attended the film festival included Azmat Choudary, Kewal krishan, Gagan Deep, Ashok Kumar, Mohan Lal, Deepak Kumar, Mokhole Ram, Youqub Ahmed, Abdul Qader, Professor, of the University etc.
