| Gupta reviews performance of Excise Department | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 8: Excise Commissioner, Pardeep Gupta reviewed the performance of the department in a meeting of senior officers held here today.
All the deputy Excise Commissioners and Excise and Taxation Officers from various Ranges all over the state participated in the meeting. Reviewing the progress of Toll and Excise revenue, it was informed that that during April, 2010 the department has earned Rs 51 crore in the current year which is Rs 9.74 crore more than that earned in the corresponding period of the previous year. There has been a growth of 23.61% in the revenue. Gupta impressed upon the officers to exercise vigil to ensure that there is no evasion of Toll and Excise revenue anywhere in the state. He exhorted upon the officers to be transparent in the functioning. In this regard a special presentation was organized to familiarize the departmental officers with salient features of the Jammu and Kashmir right to Information Act, 2009.
