| NC will not allow fringe elements to play regional card : Rana | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 8: Political Advisor to the Chief Minister and MLC Devender Singh Rana has challenged the forces who want to divide Jammu and Kashmir on communal and regional lines. Rana, who was addressing a convention of party workers of Nagrota assembly constituency here today at party headquarters Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan said that National Conference and its workers will fight such forces and defeat them in their nefarious designs because Jammu & Kashmir is an epitome of secularism, brotherhood and communal harmony and nobody will be allowed to disturb the peaceful harmonious secular fabric of the state. He said that National Conference will not allow the fringe elements in Jammu province as well in Kashmir province to play the regional card because the design of the these elements is detrimental to the cause of the state of Jammu & Kashmir and is not acceptable to the people of Jammu & Kashmir. Rana said such forces will not be allowed to hoodwink the people of the state who in majority want to stay together and want to defeat such divisive forces. He said the coalition government under the stewardship of Omar Abdullah has unleashed an era of unprecedented, equitable development in the state and shall continue to work towards that end. Rana said forces who for their petty political gains try to give regional colour will face their waterloo when the people will register Omar Abdullah's holistic vision of development across the state. Addressing the convention Provincial President J&K National Conference Jammu province Rattan Lal Gupta said that the National Conference- Congress coalition government under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah has given a new political discourse to the state by starting an era of clean, ethical, value based politics. He said National Conference is not only a political party, but is a movement enshrined in the history of the state which has the vision backed by strong ideology to conceive a futuristic progressive plan for the development of the state. "The state coalition government led by Omar Abdullah has the talent to execute such a plan", he added. Later Rana and Gupta met Panchayat Committees of Nagrota assembly constituency individually and promised them to strive to fulfill their demands.
