| Set up coaching institutes for competitive exams at district levels: Wani | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 8: MLA Doda Abdul Majid Wani congratulated the young doctor from the state, who made history by topping the coveted Indian Civil Services exam. Wani in a press statement issued here today said that Dr Faisal Shah is a role model for the youth from troubled Jammu and Kashmir. Despite killing of his father by militants at a young age, Faisal has brought laurels for himself, his family members and the state, though he was born in far-off Sogam village in the north Kashmir district of Kupwara, around 120 km from Srinagar. Expressing hope that Dr Shah l shall help other youth from J&K aspiring to be in Indian Civil Services, Wani said that there is no dearth of talent in our state. Need is only for channelising the youth energy in right direction. It becomes imperative for the government to set up high quality state-of-art institutes at district levels in J&K to provide coaching to aspiring youth preparing them to take various all India level competitive examinations. This step, if taken immediately, shall not only provide opportunities to the J&K youth to succeed at all India level competitive examinations but shall also help sharpen their skills to get them more employment opportunities all over India. Otherwise, the talent of the state remained untapped, with exceptions. Especially, the rural & poor youth are lagging far behind for want of proper guidance and the high quality coaching facilities even within their districts. Even Dr Shah had to move to the Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi for coaching after passing the prelims.
