| Bovine smuggling bid foiled, one held | | | Early Times report Jammu, May, 08: Kathua Police recovered bovine and arrested one smuggler out of the two who were being involved to smuggle these in two trucks bearing registration No. JK14A-3097 and JK02A-5095 respectively at NHW Chadwal under the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajbagh of district Kathua this morning. Reports said that, Police party of Police Post Chadwal while conducting surprise checking at NHW Chadwal intercepted two trucks on way from Punjab towards Jammu . During search of the vehicles 20 (twenty ) bovine were seized from these vehicles. The said trucks were sized and accused driver namely Gujjar Ahmed alias Mushtaq s/o Qasim r/o Round Mail Udhampur was booked under section 188 RPC. However, the driver of truck No. JK02A-5095 fled away from the spot . Case to this effect stands registered at PS Kathua and is on foot to nab the other bovine smuggler. Meanw-hile, Udhampur Police keep check on illegal transportation of bovine animals and in another achievement; they intercepted a truck bearing registration No. 6368/JK-02AC at Thard Udhampur on NHW-1A and recovered 11 bovine which were illegally transporting to Kashmir Valley. The accused four persons including the driver and cleaner of the truck namely Billa alias Pandit r/o Batote , Ravinder Singh s/o Chuni Lal r/o Sansar ,Shamsher and Hanief both residents of Vijaypur were booked U/S 188.
