| Bhalla asks illegal occupants to vacate state land | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 9: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabili-tation, Raman Bhalla, Minister for Medical and Technical Education, Rajinder Singh Chib and Minister for Health, Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated one-day sculptures exhibition at Birpur in Samba district. The exhibition was organized by renowned local sculptor Ravinder Singh Jamwal. Addressing the gathering, Raman Bhalla asked the illegal occupants to vacate state land voluntarily, otherwise face action. Minister said that the civic amenities in the peripheral areas of Jammu and Srinagar cities will be upgraded keeping in view the high rate of outflow of people from interior areas of cities to peripheries. He said that the improvement of road network in the far-off areas is being given priority, adding that fringe areas like Birpur have expanded into major urban centres where urban civic amenities needs to be developed. He said that Birpur village has produced various artists adding that Jawwal is one of them who presented a wonderful exhibition by using waste papers in making sculptures of personalities like Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Mahatama Gandhi, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru and other renowned persons. Speaking on the occasion, Sham said that coalition government is committed to provide best possible medicare facilities to the ailing persons in equipping the infrastructural of the existing hospitals. He said that Jammu and Kashmir State has great potential for attracting the tourists. He said that a comprehensive plan has been formulated to develop the periphery areas of the state as tourist destinations adding that every year near about one crore pilgrims from across the country have been visited Jammu for having darshan of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi ji. Later, Sham and Chib also inspected the horticulture garden near Birpur village. He asked the Director Horticulture to develop the garden on modern lines by proving all infrastructural facilities there.
