| 'Deaths of either side should not be celebrated' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 9: MLA Langate Er S A Rasheed today visited Chak Audora village of Mawer area in his constituency to provide cash relief to the family which was affected in an encounter between security forces and militants yesterday. Rasheed remained present in the area during the two day long encounter to prevent any excesses or harassment of the civilians by the securitymen. During the visit of the village, he expressed grief over the damage to the property of Abdul Rashid Khan, whose cowshed got razed in the gunfight. After estimating the loss, he provided an immediate cash relief of Rs 26,500 to him from Joint Effort Trust, a welfare body formed by the MLA. Addressing a gathering in the village, Rasheed reiterated his commitment to fight against any atrocities on civilians in the name of fighting militancy. Moreover, he emphasized on the need to invite militant leadership for talks. "Both militants and the government have to understand that their fighting bring no relief to people. Killings of any side should not be celebrated but loss of human lives should make us understand that this killing cycle will lead to further death and destruction," he maintained. "There is a political sect in Kashmir who reaps political harvest from the deaths of humans," Rasheed lamented adding only such people want the guns to roar for their nefarious political designs.
