| PDP activists stage protest against PCB and cement industries | | | Early Times report
Kathua, May 9, PDP activists led by Kathua distt President Surinder Singh took out a funeral procession of Chairman J&K pollution control board and cement and metal Industries for causing huge air pollution by way of omitting tons Of cement dust fly ash and poisonous gases in the atmosphere Hereby endangering the lives of Thousands of people living nearby the industrial areas of Kathua. The PDP activities raised slogans against the state govt and pollution control Board for failing to take any action against pollution industries. The effigy of chairman and unit holders was thrown in drain water nallah. Speaking on the occasion Surinder Singh alleged that due to criminal nexus between unit holders and J&K pollution control board officials there units are causing huge pollution and people of the adjoing areas are all risk of contracting total diseases there have been many reported cases of liver stone, kidney failure asthma other dangerous diseases.
He urged the state govt and distt administration to immediately order the closure of there polluting factories as they are depriving the people of their right to life and property as guaranteed by constitution under article 21 of which protects every individuals right to live this fundamental right cannot be allowed to erode at behest of there cement and metal industrialist mafia who are worse than terrorist. Block President Kathua Jagdeep Singh, Tejpaul Singh, Jaspreet Singh Blondy, kuldeep kumar etc took part in the protest.
