| Spare parts dealer robbed off | | | JAMMU: A spare parts dealer was last night robbed of Rs 1.4 lakh by three turbaned motorcycle-borne youth at pistol point at Transport Nagar here. The dealer -- Pankaj Jain -- has a spare parts shop in yard No 6 of Transport Nagar. The spot, where the incident took place, is hardly 150 ft from the Narwal police post. Though Jain brought the matter to the police notice within a minute or so of the incident, cops failed to find any clue to either the whereabouts or identity of the accused. Jain told The Early Times that he closed his shop Saturday at about 8.50 pm. While coming home at Jain Bazar, his car was intercepted by three turbaned youth at a turn close to his shop. They were on Passion motorcycle bearing No JMU/515, he added. There were three more persons with him in the car. Jain said while two of the youth threatened the three car occupants of dire consequences if they came out, one dragged him out at pistol point. "The one, who held the pistol, snatched the bag, which contained about Rs 1.40 lakh, from me and also took away my gold chain," he said. All the three, whose faces were covered, later fled the spot. For his failure to lay hands on the accused soon after the incident, Narwal police post incharge, sub-inspector (SI) Naveen Sharma was transferred and replaced with SI Sunil Sharma. IGP Ashok Gupta said he had ordered an inquiry into the incident.
