| Shastri appeals CM, release pending 8% DA installment | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 10: President of the National Mazdoor conference Subash Sharsti, has appealed the Union Finance Minister to provide special financial package of Rs. Five Thousand crore to Jammu and Kashmir for fully funding expenditure for implementation of 6th pay commission recommendations in favour of state government employees and pensioners and this purpose the Central Govt. and the planning commission should find ways and means to provide special funds to the needy states. Addressing NMC workers meeting here today Shastri pleaded for liberal funding to J&K so that beside providing all benefits of the 6th pay commission to the state government employees and pensioners as payment of arrears on account of pay revision, and as such centre should immediately come to rescue J&K and announce a special while finalizing the state annual for 2010-11. He said a lump-sum amount of Rs.5000 crores is provide exclusively for the purpose. Shastri appreciated the Chief Minister implementation of the 6th pay commission, release of 6and 5 % pending DA installments due form January and July last year, enhancement of wages of daily wagers from Rs.70 to Rs.110 per day. Shastri has also appealed the chief Minister, Omar Abdullah to release the pending installment of 8% DA. Due from January this year in favour of the state govt. employees and pensioners, as the same has already been released by the central and several state govt. in favour of their employees and pensioners. Among those who also addressed the rally included Rajan Babu Khajuria, Sunil Kochhar, sham lal, Darshan Lal, Vijay Bhagat, Girdhari Bhagat, Swarn Bhagat, Bodh Raj Bhagat, and Coomrade Barkat Ram.
