| Mother's Day celebrations at MIER college | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, May 10: Shanti Gupta Centre for Women Studies celebrated Mother's Day with great fervor in collaboration with Model Academy.
Around 50 Mothers participated in the function. Rupa Gupta, Principal R.R.School extended a warm welcome to the guests and described motherhood as the most precious gift of God to a woman. She said that the whole idea of celebrating this day was to thank mothers and to make them feel important and honour them.
Rishab presented a beautiful Ghazal on the importance of Mother. Fiza Arshad, the educational counselor of MIER College gave an informative and lively presentation on 'Effective Parenting'. She said that Mother is a person who embodies compassion, kindness, benevolence and selfless love.
Good parenting requires 4A's- Availability, appreciation, affection and acceptance. Good parents should celebrate their child's uniqueness and know how to survive their tantrums.
Compatibility test for mothers and their children was administered by Jasleen Mohial which was very interesting and informative and all participants enjoyed participating in this activity.
Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the compatibility test. Dr. Arun K. Gupta chairman MIER appreciated the efforts of CWS for organizing such interactive programmes.
Dr. Renu Gupta in her presidential remarks said that motherhood is a special feeling that comes naturally to a mother. Mothers hold their children's hand for a short while but their hearts forever. This was followed by a heart touching song and video clipping based on mother child relationship. Dr. Saba Anjum formally presented the vote of thanks. Gifts were also given to the mothers as a token of love.
