| Moungri mela from May 14 | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT UDHAMPUR, May 11: The 3-day long mela dedicated to the cave shrine of Lord Shiva and his consort Parvati would start at picturesque spot of village Moungri in Pancheri block of the district from May 14. All arrangements pertaining to smooth conduct of this annual fair have already been finalized at a meeting of district officers and members of mela committee under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Baseer Ahmed Khan. The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of mela like security, sanitation, health care, transport, Traffic, drinking water and power supply, checking of rates, ration supply, sports and cultural activities. During the mela days, large number of people irrespective of caste, creed and colour, from different parts of the state visit this magnificent place and pay obeisance at the revered cave shrine of Lord Shiva. In addition to their religious concern, the people come across to see the rich culture of this remote and mountainous belt of Bhamag area during mela days. As per past practice, All India Indian Style Wrestling Association in collaboration with Amar Memorial Trust Katra will organizes a wrestling match at the mela site during the concluding day of the fair.
