| Chinese 'transgressions' continue: Lt Gen Jaswal | | | JAMMU: The northern command GoC-in-C, Lt Gen B S Jaswal today said the Chinese troops were continuing "transgressions" along the 646-km Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh sector. "But these are not intrusions or incursions as the media projects it," he said on the sidelines of an ex-serviceman rally at Sainik School, Nagrota, near here. Lt Gen Jaswal said the Chinese transgressed as per their perception of the LAC as the border with them was yet to be finally settled. "There are varying perceptions of the LAC," he added He said these transgressions were being taken up by the ministry of external affairs with the Chinese counterparts. Reacting to a question if week intelligence or week policy was promoting Chinese transgressions, the Lt Gen said, "The Central government has a clear cut policy on China and we abide by that." Military experts said the intrusions, which the army called transgressions, had been going on along the LAC in Ladakh sector since 2008. Chinese troops have intruded into Indian territory in recent years. They told a group of Indian shepherds in December 2008 not to be near the LAC and in October 2009 got work on a road halted at Demchok, 250 km east of Leh.
