| DCD conducts surprise checking | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, May 12: In an attempt to keep a check on the growing menace of drug trafficking, the Drugs Control Department (DCD) conducted a special drive here today. A team of Drugs Control Department headed by Assistant Drug Controller Kathua-Samba Renuka Raina along with Kathua police and Narcotic department Jammu held an extensive checking of all the passengers coming from outside state at Lakhanpur. During the surprise checking, the sleuths of the drugs control department checked more than 100 vehicles including two wheelers and four wheelers. As per the statement of the Assistant Drugs Controller Renuka Raina such kind of checking system will be adopted by the department twice in a month to check the smuggling of the life saving drugs.
