| Day 2: JU students continue protest against police post | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 12: The students and scholars of Jammu University today continued their agitation on second consecutive day against the establishment of police post on the campus and demanded immediate removal of the police post. The students and scholars assembled under the banner of Students' Scholars' Committee against Police Post (SSCAPP) and staged protest outside the Administrative Block. The protestors alleged that the committee formed to look into the matter of police post was just an eye wash. "No meeting has been held even after four months," they charged while strongly criticized the committee members for not conducting a single meeting to deal the matter. The protest was mainly against the Director General of Police (DGP). The students also expressed concern over the construction of office of Deputy Superintendent of Police (Dy SP) inside the Vice Chancellor's Chamber. The agitating students warned that if the office would be constructed they would be compelled to demolish the structure. The SSCAPP has given three days ultimatum to the University authorities for taking final decision over removal of the post police. They also appealed the students, scholars and student organizations to cooperate them against the police post and "adamant attitude" of the administration regarding the issue of fee hike.
