| Panun Kashmir concerned over Farooq's revelation on K-issue | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 12: Panun Kashmir expressed its serious concern over the revelation by Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr. Farooq Abdullah regarding the finalization of some solution of Kashmir which according to him would be acceptable to Pakistan, India and people of Jammu and Kashmir State. In its Political Affairs Committee meeting chaired by Dr. Agnishekhar, Panun Kashmir took note of caution by the Union Minister against any opposition to such proposed solution which he said would die down in the course of time. Panun Kashmir deliberated upon the serious implications of the developments which in essence seems to the recognition of Musharaf formula of demilitarization, self rule, dissolution of LoC, joint management of J&K state by India and Pakistan, and demarcation of Muslim majority region of the state along river Chenab. It termed this proposal as deceptively convincing and a renewed form of Dixon Plan. The organization is of the considered opinion that, if such formulations form the broad frame work of the negotiation between Pakistan, India and Muslim separatists of Kashmir, then it is fraught with the danger of balkanization and second partition of country. Panun Kashmir warned the Union Government not to proceed ahead with such proposals without taking nation into confidence. "Kashmir is not a Muslim separatists' sphere of interests. It is an integral and inseparable part of the country; the people of India would not allow the Kashmir to be bartered in order to satisfy Pakistan and Muslim separatists of Kashmir," it maintained. It has viewed this development with serious concern as proposed solution concerns the non-negotiable issues of sovereignty, internal security, territorial integrity and natural resources of the nation. "It is shocking that Government of India is often vacillating its stand on Pakistan under U S pressure and is seen reversing unanimous historic resolution of the Indian Parliament on Kashmir," the committee said. Panun Kashmir also sought Prime Minister's stand on senior congress leader of the state Ghulam Rasool Kar who at Sopore convention appealed Government of India to accept the harsh reality of pro-Pakistani sentiment of all Kashmiri Muslims including that of even parties like Congress and National Conference.
