| State Forest Corporation employees hold protest against JDA | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 13: A joint protest demonstration of employees of J&K state Forest Corporation and ALL J&K Non-Gazetted Forest Officers Association was held today on SFC sub-office complex, Jammu under the chairmanship of CK Sudan president SFC employees union Jammu. Jaswant Singh Provincial president, Kurshid Zargar, Parveen Kumar, Irshad Masoom, Mushtaq Ahmed Mir DM workshop, Mohd Yousaf Giri, Inder Pal Raina, Ashok Sud, Swarn Amla, Jasbir Singh, Madam Pammi, Shashi Bupinder Singh also addressed the demonstration and strongly criticized the action taken by the JDA.
In the protest demonstration the employees criticize the forcibly entrance of JDA at SFC Bachan Sales Depot Jammu without the prior permission of SFC and forest authorized. They further said that the Bachan Depot which is at present in their possession is consisted of crores of valuable goods besides workshop division for maintenance of SFC vehicles and fuel supply stations. As such the entire area is highly restricted but JDA officers alongwith goon without caring request made to them by the department employees were barged into restricted area. They added that forest authorities vide letter No. 1102-07 dated:- 06-05-2010 No:-251-56 Dt. 10-05-2010 had clear cut instructed not to allow and user agency to enter in the forest till the instructed from competent authorities are not received so that any action may not amount to the contravention of the Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. Moreover the land is called as Rakh Bahu which is maintained under J&K wild life protection act.
They further added as per the forest conservation act to forest land can be transferred, sold or utilized for any purpose except forestry development purpose. There is ample sufficient evidence on record that the land of Bachan Depot measuring 374 Kanal is a forest land. Hence there is no question of its any different status as claimed by JDA.
The government of J&K is general and housing and urban development minister of J&K in particular is requested to consult the J&K forest department in this regard and settle the matter on its merits. It is absolutely improper on the part of JDA to effect forcible and unlawful possession of the forest land.
The JDA should also as a matter of a fact honour the forest conservation act which forms the basis of Bachan Sales Depot forest land. The employees also would like to apprize and appeal Hon'ble Forest Minister / Chairman of SFC to intervene in the matter and save this precious place of forest land from bearing misused by the JDA.
