| 900 kgs substandard Machat seized in Budgam | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
BUDGAM, May 13: With a view to ensure the distribution of quality agriculture inputs to the farming community, the Law Enforcement agency raided various godowns in Budgam district on May 12, 2010 and seized 900 kgs Machet (Butachlore 5% G.R) under Batch No. S-152 manufactured by Hindustan Pulversing Mills from the Premises of M/s Kashmir Kissan Agriculture Coope-rative Marketing Limited, Kaynehama Byepass.
The Enforcement agency has been geared up to seize any of the Mis-branded product of the said batch and the farmers are advised to check the batch numbers while purchasing the Weedicide.
Meanwhile, Spokesman of Agriculture Department Kashmir said that Insecticide under trade name Captaf Batch no AN00625 manufactured by Rallis India Ltd, Gujarat and Captain -50 batches no 216 Manufacture by Jaswant Rasayan (P) Ltd Hissar has been found misbranded after Test at Quality Control Laboratory at Lalmandi, Srinagar.
As such the Farmers of the Valley have been advised not to use said insecticides in their fields.
