| PDD harassing 'poor' consumers: SSH | | | EALRY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 13: Accusing the Power Development Department (PDD) of putting pressure on the poor people to achieve its revenue targets, Shiv Sena (Hindustan) today alleged that the government is following "anti-people" policies. Talking to the media persons, Dimpy Kohli, president and Rakseh Kak, spokesman of the Sena said that it is the inefficiency of the present government that it has failed to recover the power tariff from the defaulters and has put the burden on the consumers who regularly pay their dues. He appealed to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that there should be power tariff increase as per the region as less recovery more power tariff, more recovery less power tariff. The people of Jammu should not be forced to pay for the power used by the people of valley and said that Shiv Sena (Hindustan) strongly oppose the power tariff hike and request the public to protest for the same and fight for the right. Kohli said that the government should know that the biggest defaulters of the power dues are government itself. "One can easily see the misuse of power during the Darbar move. The PDD department never dares to ask these big defaulters to pay and neither dares to cut their power connections. The governments employees are ask to produce the no dues certificates from PDD & PHE to get their salaries released," the leaders said.
