EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 13: Governor, N N Vohra, discussed various security related arrangements for the Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2010 at a high level meeting held under his chairmanship at Raj Bhavan, here today. The annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine this year is scheduled to commence on July 1. The Governor, who is the Chairman of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, stressed the need for timely putting in place all the required security related arrangements, and called for securing greater synergy among the various concerned State Government Departments, Security Forces, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and other concerned Agencies. The meeting had wide-ranging discussions in regard to various aspects of the envisaged arrangements, including the enforcement of an effective access control system at both the Base Camps, effective traffic regulation, deployment of Mountain Rescue Teams on the Sheshnag route, setting up of the Joint Control Rooms and Disaster Management Centres, ATC arrangements for the heli-services for the Pahalgam and Baltal routes, location of various services at identified plots etc. The Financial Commissioner, Home, Verghese Samuel, Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda, Corps Commander, 15 Corps, Lt. Gen. N. C. Marwah, Additional Director General of Police, CID, Dr. K. Rajendra, Principal Secretary to the Governor and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Raj Kumar Goyal, GOC Victor Force, Major General, A. S. Nandal, Inspector General, CRPF, Srinagar, P. V. K. Reddy, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station, Srinagar, Air Commodore Upkarjit Singh and Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Board, Saugat Biswas participated in the meeting.
