| IRP trainee drowns in Chenab | | | JAMMU: An IRP trainee was drowned in river Chenab at Reasi, about 70 km from here, today.
The mishap occured when Riaz Ahmad, who was taking bath in Chenab, slipped into the river and was washed away by its strong currents, police sources said.
His body was later fished out and evacuated to the mortuary of Reasi district hospital.
He hailed from Rawalpura in Budgam. He was selected to IRP 16 Bn and had been undergoing a training course at police training centre, Talwara near Reasi.
Police had registered a case in this connection.
