| 3 army personnel among 7 injured in road accidents | | | Srinagar, October 16: Three army personnel and a woman are among seven people injured in two different road accidents at Handwara and Rawalpora Srinagar.
Details available indicate that driver an Ashoka Leyland truck which happened t be part of army convoy while on its way to Chowkibal Kupwara lost control , when driver of a Maruti car tried to move fast instead of making a halt. The army vehicle hit two maruti cars bearing no: JK01D/4747 and JK)4/3561 and both the cars turtled. Three army personnel and civilians traveling in maruti cars identified as Showkat Ahmed Mir S/O Mohd Qasim R/O Harwan Srinagar, Mohd Aslam Chesti S/O Nizam-ud-Din R/O Rawalpora and an unidentified woman were critically injured and shifted to hospital immediately.
Meanwhile a tractor bearing chasis no:00287 turtled near Gutlari Mawar Handwara and a persons boarding the tractor identified as Shabir Ahmed Mir S/O Gh Ahmed was critically injured. He was shifted to nearby Qalamabad hospital immediately, but no staff member was present there following which he was shifted to District Hospital Handwara. The violent protestors pelted stones on hospital ambulance.
