| Corruption at peak in Teshil Office | | | Arun Trisal Early Times report Kathua, May 16: Tehsildar's Office is hub of anarchy and indiscipline as thousands of innocent people who come to get the required documents like category certificates (SC, ST, OBC and Income Certificates), state subject, Ration Cards and etc are being deliberately and intentionally harassed by not paying heed to their vows. Student community belonging to SC, OBC and other categories are being harassed in getting income and category certificates despite formalities completed, on one pretext or the other. Ill attitude and corrupt behavior of revenue employees in tehsil offices seems not interested to discharge their service without taking bribe due to which common people suffer. Since deployment of Tehsildar common people are disappointed and harassed because office has become centre of corruption, only after paying amount of bribe to employees can only get the documents signed otherwise there is no such provision despite formalities completed. People allege that tehsildar is incapable and inefficient in providing corruption free environment to commoners in the office as no check is thereupon. A poor man is misguided and ignored initially, then agents make a deal between innocent people nd the officials at the helm of affairs, then only after paying the sum as bribe one can any document signed. Despite ban ordered by government for bifurcation of Ration Cards, people are not left with no other choice to complete document formalities for which tehsildar has refused to serve, to opt for corruption of which officials are taking advantage in fullest. Few days back a fake document in name of one Nasim Bano, appointed as Rehabar-e-Taleem Teacher at Mahi chack, have been shown as wife of his maternal uncle by the office was issued after getting bribe. To which residents of Mahi Chack resented with massive protest against tehsildar, demanding immediate dismissal of tehsildar and for his punishment. On the one hand government is talking of corruption free dispensation and on the other hand it is itself promoting it by appointing corrupt officers in aforesaid offices. Common people are at the verge of frustration as if the menace of corruption is not checked people would be forced to take the law in their hands. For government it is ripe time to intervene to save the sanctity of rule of law by checking corruption.
