| Khuda stresses on community policing | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 16: As allegations of public harrasment at nakas and city roads pile up against police, the state police chief Kuldip Khuda today came forward with the mantra of Community policing. Chairing a crime review meeting at Srinagar, he emphasised the need for people-friendly police and issued instructions to ensure that no harrasment was caused to general public while cops discharged their duties. Khuda stressed on strengtheing community policing mechanism by associating public on large scale at all levels. "Police is protector of people and they have to ensure people-friendly policing while discharging their professional duties," he added. The DGP took district wise detailed review of crime of Kashmir division and said that success of any organization was largely dependent on public cooperation. He said police-public meets should be held regularly at police stations and other places for securing greater cooperation of the masses.
