| DGP inaugurates workshop for Investigating Officers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT SRINAGAR, May 16: Director General of Police (DGP), Kuldeep Khoda, while inaugurating a one-day workshop for young Police Investigators at Kashmir Zonal Police Headquarters, here today said that we should put in our best efforts to improve the investigating skills. He said that by providing timely justice to the needy, we can further build our image and faith among the general masses. DGP stressed upon the Investigators to maintain daily diaries about the day-to-day developments so as to help early completion of investigation of cases on merits. He said that latest technology and gadgetry is being provided at Police Station levels to help investigating staff to improve their professional skills and knowledge. Khoda hoped that the workshop organized by the Kashmir Zone will help the young Police officers to benefit themselves from the rich experience and valuable suggestions of the senior officers. He exhorted upon the participants to learn from the failures and success and improve the basics of police professionalism. DGP observed that the quality of investigation and gathering of facts about the cases during investigations is of paramount importance as adjudication of these is largely dependent on it. He added that the Police has to ensure speedy response to the complaints lodged with it but due care must be taken that no innocent person is put to any inconvenience. He also emphasized for quick investigation of the cases. Earlier, IGP Kashmir Zone, Farooq Ahmad, threw light on the aims and objectives of the workshop and said that in every civilized society, prevention and detection of crime is of paramount importance. The other highlights of the workshop included a question-answer session during which the senior serving and retired police officers shared their experiences about the investigation of cases and other aspects of effective policing with the participants.
