| Stop illegal trafficking of arms, ammunition | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, May 16: Control Arms Foundation of India in collaboration with Speak India Environmental Foun-dation a moment of Envir-onment Protection, Justice, Equality, peace and Prosper-ity organized a programme at Bhartiya Public School Kathua on 'Global Weak of Action against Armed Violence' to stop in flow of illegal, small arms and light weapons in India. On this occasion Advocate Sushil Gupta was Chief Guest. In charge of campaign Sunil Monu presented welcome address and said that each year around world 5, 00,000 people are killed directly with conventional weapons and many more are injured, abused, forcibly displaced and bereaved as a result of armed violence around 58,000 Indians died due to violence and the highest casualties has been reported in the North East State & Jammu &Kashmir. Sushil Gupta said that illegal Arms Trade is main cause of Human Right Violations and Government of India should check immediately in flow of illegal small arms and light weapons in India. Gupta appreciated initiative taken by Control Arms of India and partner organizations Envir-onmental Foundation. Sashi Sharma, Varinder Khajuria, Pardeep Kesar were also present on the occasion.
